The SCOPELAND Annual Review of 2019

Scopeland Technology had a successful year 2019: completed and commissioned major projects, the positive evaluation by Forrester Research, the expansion of partner sales, the latest software version, and participation in the first Berlin Low-Code Day. We look forward to what the new year 2020 has in store.

SCOPELAND is one of the twelve most significant Low-Code platforms for business developers

The US-based Forrester Research analyst company rated SCOPELAND in the “The Forrester Wave™: Low-Code Platforms For Business Developers, Q2 2019” evaluation as one of the twelve most significant Low-Code platforms for business developers. Among other things, the data design and database development features were rated as “impressive”. The report states that the platform stands out thanks to its very good handling of geodata and map displays and that it has powerful reporting capabilities. In addition, SCOPELAND is probably the only one of the leading Low-Code platforms that can use the Low-Code principle to map sophisticated geodata processing and numerous other requirements for large projects.

Partner sales is expanded further

By expanding partner sales, 50 new SCOPELAND Partners have already been gained. Udo Rietenbach, previously responsible for public sector sales at Opitz Consulting, among others, has taken on responsibility for the development of key account and partner management at Scopeland Technology this year. The particular challenge lies in the somewhat more complex sales model for Low-Code platforms, wherein triangular relationships between end customers, solution providers, and platform providers actually have to be established. “I look forward to working with our new partners to effectively advance digital transformation for end customers by using SCOPELAND”.

Million-euro order for Scopeland Technology

The SCOPELAND platform is the most comprehensive and modern software solution for the German Federal State of Lower Saxony for almost all issues relating to foreigners and the handling of asylum procedures at the German Federal State level. Over a period of less than two years, one of the most extensive administrative solutions in the country will be created, which is designed as a precautionary measure for a possible further increase in the number of refugees. The basis of the development is the NIAS 1.0 software solution previously used by the agency, which is being upgraded to the current state-of-the-art as a modern web application with various functional enhancements. The new, expanded solution, henceforth also called ‘INA - Integrated Lower Saxony Foreigners’ Software’, is designed for more than a thousand users at all 11 current and future additional locations, service, and branch offices of the German Federal State reception authority, and other authorities.

The Low-Code platform that can do responsive design on its own

After several years of development, it’s finally here: the long-awaited new version of SCOPELAND. With SCOPELAND 7, specialist applications are available automatically, i.e. fully automatically, in a responsive design and can therefore be operated on all conceivable end devices. What is special about it is not the responsive design per se, but the new process is about the fact that hardly any additional effort is needed for adapting the user interface to the different target platforms. This is possible thanks to the fact that everything is already stored in a well-structured fashion in the metadata on Low-Code platforms. This is already used to automate the design of user interfaces to a large extent.

Successful premiere of the Berlin Low-Code Day

The first Berlin Low-Code Day took place on October 24, 2019 at the Spielfeld Digital Hub in Berlin-Kreuzberg. It was a specialist conference on the use of Low-Code platforms as a key technology for the digital transformation. With five keynote presentations and 18 specialist lectures, 14 exhibitors and 160 selected guests, mostly CDOs, CIOs, or their representatives, it was the largest cross-manufacturer Low-Code conference in Europe to date. The organizer, SIBB e.V., more than succeeded in finding a balance between professional input and active exchange. The participants were able to get a comprehensive overview of which providers are available and how they differ from each other. Many voices made it clear that it was great to live test the systems once and to interact with the manufacturers in person.
